AfriCamps Boutique Glamping takes the safety and wellbeing of every guest very seriously. With COVID-19 (Coronavirus) declared a pandemic, we are aware of the uncertainties surrounding your upcoming trip. We encourage local guests to take their self-drive holidays as planned, and of course, we have put a few extra precautions in place to make sure each guest arrives at a clean and hygienic tent.
Quality time with family in South Africa’s most beautiful and isolated locations have always been close to our hearts. It is in nature where one can recharge, restore and rejuvenate while doing the things you love with the people you love most. Even amid all the uncertainty of COVID-19, this basic value has not changed for us. We have updated our booking alteration policy to give guests more flexibility and peace of mind.
The following steps are in place to make sure you have a clean and safe stay
Checking in:
We encourage guests to self-check-in. You will receive your tent number via Whatsapp or SMS before check-in and you will be able to head straight to your tent without any human contact. Think of us as being your ‘ghost-host’. We’re there if you need us, but more than happy to keep our distance.
Staff education:
All of our staff have been educated on health safety standards for themselves and for our guests. They are all on board to take the necessary steps in staying sanitised.
Staff monitoring:
AfriCamps staff is monitored daily to ensure nobody is working with a temperature or underlying illness.
Clean, uncrowded spaces:
All high touchpoints in our reception areas/restaurants/shops will be sanitised regularly. These areas will have disinfectant for guests and staff to use regularly. We will only allow limited guests in a shop or communal area at a time. Surfaces will be cleaned after each guest’s visit to the reception/shop.
Laundry services:
Each washing machine is cleaned out between cycles. Towels and bedding are washed at higher temperatures or hung on the line to dry in the sun or dried using a tumble dryer ensuring there is a high heat factor.
Tents:
- All surfaces and ‘high-touch’ points are sanitised after each guest visit.
- All dishes, cutlery, and glasses are re-washed after each guest visit.
- Hot Tubs are drained and washed with bleach solutions. Fresh water is added prior to a new guest’s arrival.
- All housekeeping/cleaning staff is supplied with hand sanitizer, to be used on a regular basis.
- We use a high concentrate bleach solution for all the cleaning.
