Vacancy: Glamping Camp and Hotel Management Couple

Together with our partners at Karoo 1 Hotel Village, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced couple to manage the day-to-day operations of a medium-sized hotel, an AfriCamps Boutique Glamping camp, a restaurant, bar, and events venue at Karoo 1 Hotel Village, located just outside De Doorns in the Western Cape.

Responsibilities:
As the glamping camp and hotel management couple, your responsibilities will include:

– Managing and supervising the daily operations of the glamping camp, including housekeeping, F&B services, guest services, maintenance and repairs, and other related activities.
– Hiring, training, supervising and scheduling staff to ensure that all areas of the camp are properly staffed and managed.
– Developing and implementing new business strategies and systems to run a well-operated glamping camp.
– Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and comfort in all areas of the camp, including guest accommodations, public spaces, and recreational facilities.
– Monitoring and managing the budget for the glamping camp, including inventory control and purchasing.
– Ensuring a positive and engaging guest experience by responding to feedback, providing assistance and service, and resolving issues as they arise.
– Creating a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and exceptional service delivery.
– Adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations and requirements.

Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must have:

– At least 3 years’ experience in hospitality management, preferably in a glamping or hotel environment.
– Excellent communication and leadership skills.
– Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
– Ability to manage a diverse workforce.
– Understanding of inventory control, purchasing, and budget management.
– Strong customer service orientation.
