No one I know ever wins ANYTHING. But, then!

PechaKucha “Prepare to be inspired, challenged and educated as PechaKucha speakers share their passions, creativity and achievements….all in less than seven minutes!”

“PechaKucha is the Japanese term for the sound of “chit chat” and so PechaKucha Nights are informal and fun gatherings where people from all walks of life get together and share their ideas, works, thoughts, etc…just about anything, really. The 20×20 presentation format of PechaKucha involves 20 images, each displayed for 20 seconds, resulting in short, visually driven presentations. Images advance automatically and presenters must therefore be succinct.”

This event takes place worldwide with community events happening all around the world where speakers talk about different and exciting topics. For the 40Th Pecha Kucha event in Cape Town, we went in search for the best glamping tweet.

“No one I know ever wins ANYTHING.”

But then! One of my besties, Robyn, tweeted a hilarious, punny Tweet & won herself a weekend at Kam’Bati for 5!

And I was invited, obvs.

It’s such a beautiful spot, just over 2 hours outside of Cape Town, and what some folks like to call Glamping (Glamourous Camping).

Our tent was kitted out with everything we needed, including tea, coffee, sugar and washing up liquid, plus the most incredible bedding and electric blankets (it was SO CHILLY when we arrived) and towels for each of us. The only thing we needed to sort out was food for ourselves (BUT! there are options for Breakfast and Dinner packs at an extra cost).

This seems like an even better place to return to in Summer, as they have Berry Picking, Canoeing, Horse Rides and a Spa! I’d recommend it if you’re looking to relax, as there’s no Wifi and it’s incredibly quiet and tranquil. Take a book or a magazine and some delicious snacks and you’re good to go!
