AfriCamps Boutique Glamping was founded in 2014 and our head office is based in Parklands, Cape Town. We run our marketing, reservations, maintenance and factory departments from the head office.
Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing Assistant to join our team. The Marketing Assistant will perform day-to-day tasks and assist with larger projects in the marketing department. Tasks will consist of administrative and creative duties that will assist the team in achieving marketing goals in a fast-paced environment.
Location: The position is based at our head office in Parklands, Cape Town
Duration: Permanent position
Area of study: A relevant qualification in marketing is required
Salary: Industry-related
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Social Media: Assistance with AfriCamps’ social media execution (writing posts, scheduling content, following a social media schedule, monitoring and responding to comments and messages as needed)
- Website Maintenance: Basic website and app text updates
- Listing Site Maintenance: Updating various accommodation listing and booking websites for each AfriCamps location (Booking.com, AirBNB, TripAdvisor, etc)
- Guest Reviews: Responding to guest reviews on multiple platforms in a timely manner
- Copywriting: Compiling copy for AfriCamps’ websites, magazine, apps, brochure, newsletters, advertisements, press releases and blog
- editorial tasks like proofreading and fact-checking
- sourcing quotes for production projects
- collecting and compiling data from marketing campaigns
- performing various research tasks
- coordinating with media partners, journalists, online influencers, and suppliers as required
- assisting with arrangements for influencer and media stays
- assisting with arrangements for photo and video shoots
- assisting the marketing team with the roll-out of campaigns and competitions
- assisting with outsourced projects
- assisting with company sponsorships and donations
- assisting with basic design tasks
- general administrative tasks
Proficiencies:
- Google Suite and MS Office programmes (Word and Excel)
- social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and newsletter platforms like Brevo (beneficial), and being adaptable to working with new platforms
- experience with Adobe design programmes (beneficial)
- basic video editing using Filmora (beneficial)
