Job Description:

We are looking for a marketing assistant to perform day-to-day marketing tasks and assist with projects in our marketing team. The marketing assistant will have administrative as well as creative duties that will assist the team in achieving marketing goals. The marketing assistant will work in a fast-paced environment covering a wide variety of marketing-related tasks.

Vacancy Details:

Location: Position is based at AfriCamps’ head office in Parklands, Cape Town.
Duration: Permanent position
Area of study: A qualification in a marketing-related field is required.
Start date: February 2023
Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in a marketing position is required.
Salary: Market-related salary

Tasks include but are not limited to:

• Assistance with AfriCamps’ social media (witing posts, scheduling content, following a social media schedule, monitoring and responding to comments and messages)
• Website updates
• Managing and updating various accommodation listing and booking websites for each AfriCamps location (Booking.com, AirBNB, TripAdvisor, etc)
• Monitoring and responding to guest reviews
• Writing copy for AfriCamps’ websites, magazine, apps, brochure, newsletters, advertisements, press releases and blog.
• Editorial tasks such as proofreading and fact checking
• Sourcing quotes for production projects
• Collecting and compiling data from marketing campaigns
• Performing various research tasks
• Coordinating with media partners, journalists, online influencers, and suppliers as required
• Assisting the marketing team with the roll-out of campaigns and competitions
• Assistance with outsourced projects
• General administrative tasks
