Marloth Nature Reserve

Drostdy Museum

Built in 1747 by the Dutch East India Company, Drostdy Museum originally served as the residence and official headquarters for the Landdrost. This historic site provides a fascinating glimpse into Swellendam – the 3rd oldest town in South Africa.

Tsitsikamma Canopy Tours

Tsitsikamma Canopy Tours is located in the magnificent Tsitsikamma forest, where you can glide between platforms surrounded by giant Outeniqua Yellowwood trees that are up to 700 years old! A must-do on your Garden Route itinerary.

Wilderness beaches

AfriCamps at Oakhurst is situated within 15 minutes of Wilderness Beach and Leentjiesklip – both fantastic beaches to soak up the sun or conquer the waves. With warm water temperatures, Garden Route beaches are firm favourites.

A lovely 5 km hiking trail runs through Oakhurst Farm’s shaded forest down the Klein Keurbooms river to a waterfall. There is also a number of other lovely hiking trails in the area. Ask us about these.

Fishing with Fransie (on-site)

Join Fransie for a day of bass fishing at our farm dam! Bring your fishing rods or hire ours, and we’ll keep you hydrated with a cooler of drinks. After fishing, you can take one of our complimentary canoes for a row around the dam or take a dip to cool off.

Visit the dairy farm (on-site)

The dairy is popular among kids! Watch as the cows are milked and fed, or head on our guided dairy tour for an in-depth look into the farm’s thriving dairy business.

Kloofing, abseiling & canoening with Eden Adventures

Explore Wilderness by canoe with Eden Adventures, offering trips ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours at Touws River, Island Lake, Kaaimans River, and the River Mouth. For more adventure, try abseiling or kloofing at Kaaimans Gorge, where you can scale waterfalls and swim through narrow canyons.

Swartberg Mountain Pass

Drive through the breathtaking Swartberg Pass into Prince Albert and marvel over the majestic Swartberg Mountains. Avid mountain bikers can also take on the pass by bike.

Fishing

Cast your lines in our farm dam and try your luck at catch-and-release fishing. Relax by the water and enjoy a peaceful day surrounded by nature.

Pool

Cool off in the swimming pool on the property. Smaller kids can safely take a dip in the smaller children’s pool here. Grab a drink and relax on a lounger and take in the Karoo views from the pool area.

Hiking

Choose from three stunning hiking trails on the reserve, ranging in difficulty and lasting between 3 to 5 hours. The reserve boasts valleys and fynbos as far as the eye can see, and birdlife aplenty!

Mountain biking

Cycle along the scenic dirt roads or challenge yourself on the thrilling MTB trails in the Robertson Wine Valley. With mountain views, vineyards and fresh country air, Robertson is MTB-country!

Viljoensdrift Wine Estate

Board Viljoensdrift’s flat-bottomed riverboat for a tranquil cruise on the Breede River. Before setting off, fill a picnic basket with gourmet treats from their deli and select a bottle of Viljoensdrift’s acclaimed wines.

Van Loveren Family Vineyards

Spend a delightful day at Van Loveren Family Vineyards, where there’s something for every taste. Guided cellar or garden tour, trails, birding, wine tasting, food and wine pairing, or giant chess – take your pick!

Canoeing

Set off on an exciting water adventure a kayak or an SUP available for use on the dam! Grab your oars and life jackets (available for daily rental at the office) and enjoy a day of fun on the water.

Cape Central Railway

Enjoy a steam-hauled train journey through the breathtaking vineyards and open veld of the Breede River and Langeberg Valley, part of the Cape Central Valley. The train departs every Saturday at 10h00 from Robertson.

Stop by Owl’s Rest, a charming boutique lavender farm stall offering a range of lavender- and olive-infused products, including soaps, essential oils, bath salts, and body creams.

Wellington is internationally recognised for its mountain biking trails, including routes featured in the Cape Epic. A variety of trails catering to different skill levels are accessible on the estate and in the area (permits may be required).

Rooiberg Winery, Robertson
