Our dog-friendly camps have wide-open spaces, stunning views, and easygoing farm life, setting the scene for a getaway you can share with your furry friend. From mountain landscapes to vineyards and Karoo plains, each one offers something a little different, but all of them welcome wagging tails.

AfriCamps at de Pakhuys
CEDERBERG, WESTERN CAPE
The Cederberg landscape is the kind of place where both you and your dog can properly switch off. Big open spaces, dramatic rock formations, and plenty to explore right outside your tent.
While you’re taking in the views or heading out on a hike, your dog has room to roam, sniff, and settle into the rhythm of the mountains.
AfriCamps at Karoo 1
HEX VALLEY, WESTERN CAPE
Set on a working farm in the Hex River Valley, this camp brings together Karoo landscapes and easy comfort. Each tent comes with its own wood-fired hot tub, perfect after a day out exploring.
Bring your dog along for long walks, trail runs, or MTB rides through the surrounding terrain. You’ll likely be welcomed by Benji, the resident dog, who sets the tone for the kind of laid-back Karoo hospitality you can expect.
AfriCamps at Stanford Hills
STANFORD, WESTERN CAPE
Stanford Hills has been dog-friendly from day one, and it shows. There’s an on-site restaurant and tasting room, plenty of space to explore, and a relaxed farm atmosphere that works just as well for dogs as it does for their humans.
Spend your days walking through fynbos, cooling off at the dam, or heading out on the trails. Then wind things down with good food, a glass of wine, and your dog at your feet.
AfriCamps Klein Karoo
OUDTSHOORN, WESTERN CAPE
Just outside Oudtshoorn on a working ostrich farm, this camp is all about wide-open Karoo views and simple outdoor living done well.
Your dog gets space to run, explore, and settle in, while you enjoy slow evenings around the braai and uninterrupted views of the Swartberg Mountains.
Important Info for Our Furry Guests & Their Humans
We welcome dogs at selected AfriCamps locations, by prior arrangement only, so make sure your human lets us know in advance.
Your human will need to pay R250 per night so that you can join the adventure.
We know you’re the goodest boy or girl, but please remind your human that only one well-behaved, small- or medium-sized domestic dog is allowed per tent.
Always keep your human close. Dogs must be on a leash in shared areas and may not be left unattended at any time.
Your human is responsible for making sure you don’t disturb other guests, wildlife, or the surroundings. Full responsibility and liability for your dog remains with the owner throughout the stay.
