Terms and Conditions for Dog-friendly Camps
We welcome well-behaved dogs by prior arrangement. To ensure a safe and enjoyable stay for all guests, the following terms apply:
1. Dog-friendly camps
Our four dog-friendly camps are located in Stanford, Cederberg, Hex Valley and Oudtshoorn.
2. Prior Approval & Cost
Dogs will only be allowed by prior arrangement and at a fee of R250 per stay. Please check in at reception with your dog on arrival.
3. Number & Type of Dogs
A maximum of one small or medium-sized dog is permitted per tent. Only domestic dogs are allowed unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4. Behaviour & Temperament
Dogs must be well-socialised, non-aggressive, and accustomed to being around other animals and guests. Excessive barking, aggressive behaviour, or disturbance to other guests is not allowed. Management reserves the right to request the removal of any disruptive animal without refund.
5. Control & Supervision
Dogs must be kept under control at all times. In communal/shared areas, dogs must be on a leash unless otherwise indicated. Dogs may not roam around the property unsupervised.
6. Unattended Dogs
Dogs may not be left unattended at your tent. Management may intervene if a dog is left unattended and is causing a disturbance.
7. Respect for Other Guests
Guests must ensure their dogs do not approach, interfere with, or disturb other guests, children, or animals on the property.
8. Wildlife & Farm Animals
Chasing or disturbing wildlife, livestock, or resident animals is strictly prohibited. Guests will be held responsible for any incidents or damages caused.
9. Hygiene & Cleanliness
Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs immediately and disposing of waste in designated bins. Dogs are not permitted on beds or furniture. Guests must bring their own pet bedding, bowls, and supplies.
10. Restricted Areas
Dogs may be prohibited from certain areas of the property (e.g. hot tubs, pools, or specific facilities). Guests must adhere to all on-site signage and instructions.
11. Health Requirements
All dogs must be up to date with vaccinations and free from ticks, fleas, or parasites. Dogs in heat are not permitted.
12. Liability, Injury & Indemnity
Guests accept full responsibility for their dogs at all times. AfriCamps, its owners, staff, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, loss, or death of any dog during the stay, howsoever caused, including but not limited to interactions with wildlife, other animals, environmental factors, or other guests. Any injury, loss, or damage caused by a dog to property, staff, other guests, or animals will be for the owner’s account. Additional cleaning or repair fees may apply.
13. Non-Compliance
Failure to comply with these rules may result in immediate removal from the property without refund. By bringing a dog onto the property, guests agree to abide by the above terms and ensure their pet contributes to a respectful and enjoyable shared environment for all.
