AFRICAMPS HOEDSPRUIT
HOEDSPRUIT, GREATER KRUGER, LIMPOPO
Known as South Africa’s safari capital, Hoedspruit is the gateway to the Greater Kruger region. AfriCamps Hoedspruit is located just under 1 hour and 30 minutes from the Kruger National Park, with easy access to some of South Africa’s best private game reserves. The town also has Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport, making it one of the country’s most accessible safari destinations.
Best time for safaris: Safaris in the Greater Kruger area are exceptional year-round, with each season offering something different. Winter (May to September) is ideal for Big 5 sightings as wildlife gathers around waterholes, with July and August widely regarded as the peak safari months. Summer brings lush landscapes, migratory birds, and plenty of newborn wildlife.

ADDO, EASTERN CAPE
AfriCamps Addo is just 10 km from the main gate of Addo Elephant National Park, home to more than 600 elephants and one of Africa’s largest elephant populations. It’s also the only national park where the Big 7 can be experienced across both land and sea. Guided game drives depart directly from the camp.
Best time for safaris: Addo offers excellent wildlife viewing throughout the year thanks to its mild climate. Summer brings active birdlife and lush thicket landscapes, while the cooler winter months make for comfortable game drives and excellent elephant sightings at waterholes. Visit between June and August for the chance to combine your safari with a Big 7 marine tour along the nearby coastline. The Big 7 includes the Big 5, plus two iconic marine species: the Southern Right Whale and Great White Shark.
